Start a Quinceañera Choreography Business in Florida

Florida’s Hispanic or Latino population is roughly 5.9 million—about 26.7% of the state (U.S. Census Bureau, ACS 2019–2023 5-year estimates). From Miami–Dade and Hialeah to Orlando, Tampa Bay, and growing pockets in Central and North Florida, families celebrate quinceañeras with Cuban, Puerto Rican, Colombian, Venezuelan, Mexican, and many other traditions woven in.

If you teach dance and want to turn that into a real business, Florida’s challenge is rarely “are there families?” It is “how do I stand out, price travel across sprawl, and run rehearsals when the court lives in three different suburbs?”

The Choreographer Startup Package is the playbook Fairytale Dances has used since July 2008—packages, pricing, contracts, and rehearsal systems—shared so you can serve communities that still need a local choreographer.

Florida’s market in plain language

  • South Florida (Miami, Hialeah, Broward, Palm Beach): High volume, high expectations, strong Caribbean and South American influence. Video quality and professionalism matter.
  • Central Florida (Orlando and surrounds): Fast growth, many transplants, venues booked year-round. Clear packages help families decide quickly.
  • Tampa Bay and the Gulf Coast: Mix of established and newer Latino communities; partnerships with churches and shops go far.
  • Smaller cities and inland towns: Fewer dedicated quince choreographers. Being the reliable local option can fill a calendar.

This package teaches the business of teaching choreography. It does not include hiring out chambelanes, damas, or other dancers.

What is inside

Eight modules: our story since 2008, sizing your local market, building packages, finding clients without a big scene, contracts and retainers, running rehearsals, do’s and don’ts, and growing once you are booked.

Pricing for Florida families

Florida travel is its own beast—tolls, traffic, and long suburban drives. Build that into your offers:

  • Offer waltz only, full court, and surprise dance as clear choices
  • Use zones (county or mile bands) instead of a flat “we’ll figure it out”
  • Take a retainer to hold the date; spell out what happens if the party moves
  • If you rehearse at the family’s home or a studio, price time and travel together so you are not undercharging the hardest bookings

We do not publish made-up “average Florida quince choreography rates.” Module 3 shows you how to build numbers that fit *your* costs and market.

Finding clients in Florida

  • Parishes and churches that bless or host quinceañeras
  • Banquet halls from Miami to Orlando that already work with DJs and planners
  • Quince boutiques and party stores in Latino corridors
  • Spanish- and English-language community groups on Facebook
  • Referrals from photographers, makeup artists, and past moms
  • Short rehearsal clips that show clean formations—families hire confidence

Module 4 was written for choreographers who cannot wait for one annual expo to fill the year.

California note and eligibility

This package is not sold to anyone whose business is or will be located in California, or who serves clients in California. You confirm that at checkout. Florida-based businesses are eligible.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need formal dance credentials?

You need to be comfortable teaching a waltz and leading a court. The package teaches business systems, not how to dance.

Will South Florida already have too many choreographers?

Parts of it are competitive. Many buyers still struggle to find someone organized with contracts, clear pricing, and rehearsal discipline. Suburbs and secondary markets often have more open space.

Are contract templates Florida-legal?

No template is “Florida-legal” out of the box. Ours are educational examples. Have a Florida attorney review them before client use.

Can I upgrade from Starter to Pro later?

Yes—pay the $200 difference. Call or text 323-715-4555 or email info@fairytaledances.com.

What about refunds?

Because Starter and Pro files are delivered immediately, all sales are final. If a file is damaged or missing, email info@fairytaledances.com and we will send a working copy.
