New Jersey’s Hispanic or Latino population is about 2.0 million—roughly 21.9% of the state (U.S. Census Bureau, ACS 2019–2023 5-year estimates). Cities such as Elizabeth, Paterson, Newark, and many towns across North and Central Jersey host families with Puerto Rican, Dominican, Mexican, Colombian, Peruvian, and other Latino roots who plan quinceañeras with real care.
If you can teach a waltz and run a court, New Jersey’s density can work in your favor—as long as your business side is as polished as your choreography. Families here compare options quickly. Clear packages, a written retainer, and rehearsal discipline separate hobby helpers from professionals.
Fairytale Dances has choreographed quinceañeras since July 2008. Our Choreographer Startup Package shares the packages, pricing, contracts, and rehearsal systems we use so you can build a teaching business outside California.
What makes New Jersey unique
- North Jersey corridors: High Latino share in several cities; strong Caribbean and South American influence alongside Mexican-American communities.
- Central and South Jersey: Growing demand with fewer household-name choreographers in some towns.
- Transit and traffic reality: A “short” drive can eat an evening. Zone-based travel pricing is not optional—it is how you stay profitable.
This package covers teaching quinceañera choreography only. It does not include hiring out court dancers.

Pricing for New Jersey families
We will not invent statewide average fees. Instead, price from your costs:
- Offer waltz-only, full court, and surprise dance as separate products
- Add travel zones that respect Turnpike, Parkway, and bridge time
- Collect a retainer when you hold the date; put reschedule rules in writing
- If you rehearse at the family’s home or a studio, include that logistics cost in the package—not as an awkward add-on after they book
Module 3 walks through the worksheet so you are not guessing.
Finding clients in New Jersey
- Parishes and churches that prepare quinceañeras
- Banquet halls and catering venues that already book DJs and photographers
- Quince and party shops in Latino commercial districts
- Community Facebook groups in Spanish and English
- Referrals from planners, florists, and past families
- Clean short-form video of court formations—families hire what they can see
Eligibility
Your business must operate outside California. New Jersey-based buyers are eligible and confirm that at checkout.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need dance-company experience?
You need to be comfortable teaching a waltz and leading a court. The package teaches business systems, not technique.
Are the contracts ready for New Jersey law?
They are educational templates. Have a New Jersey-licensed attorney review them before client use.
Can I work evenings and weekends only at first?
Yes. Most new choreographers start that way. Starter is built for a part-time launch.
What if someone in the court keeps missing rehearsal?
Module 6 covers no-shows, practice videos, and parent partnerships so one person’s schedule does not sink the routine.
How do upgrades work?
Upgrade from Starter to Pro for the $200 difference. Call or text 323-715-4555 or email info@fairytaledances.com.
